How We Are Funded

The Venezie Institute is completely independent of any political party, religious or economic interest group.

We accept contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations and government agencies - both in the Venices* and at international level. However, we will not accept funds that might impair the independence of the organization to pursue its mission, or that compromise its ability to address issues freely, thoroughly and objectively.
To this end, we will:

  1. accept resources only from donors who share our institutional, social and economic reform objectives;
  2. seek a balanced distribution between resources obtained from the public sector, the private sector, foundations, charities and individuals;
  3. seek a multitude of donors in any aforementioned category;
  4. not accept resources granted under condition or structured such that the Institute:
    - refrains from independent action,
    - pursues activities inconsistent with its mission, or
    - refrains from pursuing activities consistent with its mission.

Currently, we rely almost entirely on donations from our Directors. These individuals believe so much in the Venezie Institute's mission that they are willing to sacrifice their own families' financial security to support the Institute's activities!

Therefore, when you look at our range of activities and projects and to what we have achieved so far, please take a moment to realize how much commitment and financial sacrifice it has meant to us. And then take a moment to consider how much more we could do if YOU too could give us your support.

Donations to support our work may be made either by Cash, Cheque, Postal Order or by Bank Transfer directly into the Institute's account:

  • Cash:
    Do not send cash by Post, but come and meet us personally at our Headquarters Office in London (UK) - please call us beforehand on 020 7589 2909.

  • Cheque/Postal Order - always give a clear reference (i.e. write your name and address on the back of it) unless you wish to keep your support anonymous:
    - if in Sterling make it payable to "Venezie Institute".
    - if in Euros make it payable to "Confederazione Veneziana".

  • Bank Transfer -
    - if in Sterling:
    Account name: Venezie Institute
    Lloyds TSB Bank plc
    Kensington High Street branch
    BIC no: LOYDGB21025
    IBAN no: GB94 LOYD 3094 6502 4549 74

    - if in Euros:
    Account name: Confederazione Veneziana
    Banca del CentroVeneto
    Bresseo di Teolo branch
    BIC no: ICRAITR1GE5
    IBAN no: IT19 P085 9062 9200 0008 1004 784

If you are outside the UK or Italy the preferred method for your donation would be by bank transfer. Please do not send us Cheques/Postal Orders if there are other procedures available as this will incur high banking fees to us.

Thank You for Your Support!

(*) For the purpose of the Institute's work, the words "Venices", "Venetia" and "Northeast Italy" are interchangeable, and are taken as meaning the historical Venices within Northern Italy - i.e. the current italian regions of Venezia Tridentina-Sud Tirol/Alto Adige, Venezia Euganea, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the current provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona (i.e Venezia Orobica), and Mantua.
